The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world and was named after the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. He is a graceful, alert, swift-moving little dog with a saucy expression. Sporty and devoted, the Dachshund makes an excellent family dog. Despite his small size he makes a good watch dog with a surprisingly loud bark. He may be slightly aggressive to strangers. Given the nickname the "sausage dog" he is low to the ground, long in body and short of leg with robust muscular development. The Dachshund has an intelligent, alert, facial expression. The name "Shih Tzu" means lion dog in Chinese and he received the name because of his long, flowing mane-like coat. The Shih Tzu is a sturdy, lively, toy dog with long flowing double coat. He has a distinctively arrogant carriage with head well up and tail curved over the back. He may display an arrogant personality, but is actually playful and gentle.
